Good article. My first daily carry pistol was an East German Makarov. It shot amazingly out of my hand, and its simplicity of operation and maintenance kept it on my hip, the majority of my pistol carry for 15 years. With one tool you can do everything except change the barrel.

Yeah, I carried, and do carry, a revolver a lot but it was my main pistol. It still is carried along with spare parts in my ghb, its reliability keeps it there, but it now has large highly visible Amerigun night sights for my old eyes.

I have two Makarovs. A Russian made .380 and a 9x18 that I think is Czech if I remember correctly. Both great pistols.
