FACTORY BLEMS: ARE ‘BLEMISHED’ FIREARMS A GOOD BUY?

Blemished guns are very affordable and as article says, my Beretta PICO was what Beretta calls a Y Gun, it shoots fine and realiable, it’s my CCW

I bought a Blem Tisas nickel plated Tank Commander 1911 and I can't tell where the "blemish" is. Most of the time, Blemished means that there might be a slight discoloration in the finish or a small nick that no one will ever notice unless they looked for it.

i buy blems only on brands i know. i also buy 2nd's on bullets and most are easy to tell the brand it is. i believe most blems are a good buy and sometimes a great buy when prices are marked way down!

so yes, blems are worth it!

For Staccato the discount is usually $200.00. BUT, by purchasing a factory blemished gun you forfeit any finish warranty. I will take the gun that passes QC every time. They are not "giving" you anything.

Bought multiple "blemished " parts, and complete firearms, and I couldn't show you on a single one where the blemish is.

Talk about picking nat $#!+ out of pepper.......

@USMC6094, people have very different ideas as to what is "acceptable". Perhaps you are willing to accept a lesser product in order to save a dollar. I, as i am sure you, work hard for every dollar I have. When purchasing a firearm that I will depend on to protect my family / self. Personally i would not choose one that contained gnat $#!+ or pepper.
We all have opinions, right or wrong. If you could please publish your criteria for questions that are not "Dumb" sir.
Many here are new to the gun community and count on people here to point them in the right direction with personal experience and sound advise, not some dude with an obviouse chip on his shoulder towards the newcomer.

I have bought blemished parts ;ie AR parts uppers, lowers, handguards. Everything except barrels, the criteria on blem barrels is different.

when i ran the gas station way back in the 70's, my tire distributor always had factory blem tires....mostly it was either partial whitewalls, or raised letters on the sidewall, not raised

i had so many customers asking me for blems, that i made a killing selling them...

so yes, i'd buy a factory blemished handgun, as it does not affect the gun itself, and as long as it is disclosed as such...not hidden from me.......

Blemished upper receivers and handguards. They work fine and if there was a major finish issue, I would simply strip it down and cerekote them.
