Families sue Snapchat…

It’s an unfortunate set of circumstances but the social media is only part of the blame and what the political entities like to defer to is ”root causes” to which they’ve done nothing in the past 60 years but ”talk the talk”.

Fentanyl is rather new in terms of it now being an illegally manufactured synthetic drug coming from abroad unchecked due to open foreign trade policy failures.
Our Root-Causes Border Czar has given up on any chance of curtailing the influx of both traffickers and trafficking. Our bordering neighbors seem to be nonchalant about the problem as such as the sleepy commander-in-chief. It’s no secret where the fentanyl is coming from and how it’s getting here. They just won’t do anything about it and that’s the problem these litigants should be squawking about - but there’s no monetary compensation package with that.

And besides that, what were kids dying of (overdosing) before the social media/cellphone video challenges? Remember when the dealers would throw a pair of gym shoes onto the wires to signify gang turf and drug dealing? Nobody sued gym shoe manufacturer or the phone company for any related or contributing deaths.

This country is famous for frivolity when it comes to tort. Political pressure and partisan politics seem to get attention and successful outcomes. Yes, a well orchestrated community organization class action suit against a deep pocket social media giant will at the very least, garner a hefty settlement and thus open the door for case law to adopt third party culpability.

Don’t expect the pols to ban social media, there too much money and influencing tools in it for their mass messaging.
Commonsense approach is incomprehensible. It’s Snap Chat… on a cellphone. Take away the cellphone and problem is solved.
