FedEx stinks

Belt Fed

Didn't want to put it in the title but they suck. This all started yesterday when they were to deliver two Kuna mags from SA. No where did it say it need an adult signature. i went back and looked good. so they took it back and said they would try another time. well not a huge deal cause i wasn't going to use them yesterday or today. i figured it would be next week before they would try again.

So i made some plans for today so i could be home Monday when they tried again. I get up this morning and got a new e mail it's out for delivery today. well there goes those plans. the e mail says between 9;30 and 1:50 and does say adult sig required.

So about one i look at the delivery map and he's not too far off. i figure another 30 minutes. At two i check again and he is closer. at 2:30 i check and it says we will try to deliver at another date. well what the crap. so the guy just quits?

Now i fully understand this is Sunday, but don't tell me you are going to deliver a package today and i have to be here and then don't deliver it. and this is not the first time they have done this.

I was so mad i mowed the lawn, Aggressively.

Rant over

Years ago they were all pretty good. Now none of them good. I get a message at 530am that my package is out for delivery. They give me some bogus time for the middle of the day and the package finally shows up here at 1030pm! A few times I have refused delivery because they couldn't get it here at a reasonable time. I hate to order anything but sometimes I just can't get it around here.

I get you. I had something pretty expensive delivered here by FedEx back during the pandemic, and I didn’t receive it. It was insured by the company that sent it I’m sure, but that’s not the point. The item was for my mom and did not require a signature. This is actually funny after the fact, but after a bunch of emails after they said it had been delivered, the company sent another item. This one ended up in my mailbox.
It turns out…(don’t laugh too loud now…) I was cleaning up the patio just outside the door to the garage one day about a year afterwards and, for some reason I lifted the lid on the grill and BAM…there was the item! Now tell me where it is okay anywhere to go behind someone’s house and stick a $1500 item in a grill without letting anyone know it’s there???? It NEVER occurred to me or my mom to check there for it. So yeah, FedEx does suck.

UPS is good here and USPS would be good if our mailman gave a crap about his job. he is all time putting other peoples mail in my box and vice versa.
In NJ i had a lot of problems with USPS and learned they (fedex and ups may do the same) will sometimes just make stuff up! Had a part coming for my grill and i was home all day to receive (for some reason needed to sign) and at 6pm it was updated to “customer not home” will try again tomorrow. Tomorrow came and went so i went to the post office and when they did some digging they saw that it was loaded onto the wrong truck two times! When asked why they would put that i wasn’t home, the person said “to cover for the mistake by sorting”.

About a year ago, I had ordered something from Amazon. Our driveway runs to the back of our house, where our attached garage is. The delivery driver, in their personal vehicle, drove to the back of our house, turned around in our driveway, dropped the box off in front of our lanai screen door, took a picture of it, and left. Unbelievable.

@Belt Fed I wasted 4 days off work waiting for those monkeys. I'd be sitting in my lawn chair in my driveway and get the notification that I wasn't home to deliver my package. I finally got so PO'd I called the 1-800 number and blew a gasket after 3 days of this and getting a notification that the package was going back to the company that shipped it to me.

I also decided to contacted the seller to let him know the issues as well. He and I agreed that we would hit them from both sides to send it to the local FedEx/Kinkos in my city. FedEx told us both they would have my package at the local FedEx/Kinkos on the next day air delivery vehicle and it would be there by 10:30 a.m.
it WAS NOT! It didn't show up until the next day, which was completely BS because they also had 4 ground vehicles from that location hub that delivered to that FedEx/Kinkos on the day we were told it would be delivered. So in total 5 vehicles that could have delivered it on the day we were told. Complete Failure!!

In the last 10 years I cannot believe how FAR they (UPS, FedEx and USPS) have all fallen, it's ludicrous to be completely honest.

I don't order through online much but just after i moved into an apartment i learned the apartment complex could be barely seen or noticed by delivery companies including usps. An online order to me was sent fedex and it was out to be dropped off to me in Central NJ but the fedex tracker had the truck in upstate new yawhk no-where near a street named the same as the highway or complex's name anywhere in new yawhk. A call and a few callbacks happened for 2 days till i finally got somebody with a brain and a voice i could understand. The package was in a fedex warehouse in upstate new yawhk and going back to the company who sent it. 4ish days it was in a close to me fedex i had it sent there for me to pick up.

How does NJ-NY get mixed up even on a map?

I refuse to order anything that only gets sent fedex but all things i get has options for shipping and fedex has the highest prices.

I had a Fedx driver pull up in the yard a few years back and hand me a package, i knew i didn't have nothing coming but figured my daughter might have. this dude ran back to the truck and i look at it and see it's neither of us and run to give it back. i said this ain't mine and the address is nowhere near here. he said just keep it. say what? nope you take it back, this may be important to someone.

Federal Express I hear is laying off or giving buyout options to lots of their Express employees. Closing Express stations left and right; Opting to move service to the “Ground” or “Home” side of the company.
Those drivers are not Fed Ex employees but Independent contractors . The Fed Ex Ground drivers in my area only get paid $120 a day. Then they load them down with120+ stops and many end up pulling12-14 hour days. No benefits , lousy pay and long hours.
Fed Ex take Note. Good work ain’t cheap and cheap work ain’t good.

This winter I had a case of 9 mm coming via fedex. It’d snowed a couple inches, but the propane truck made it down the driveway. Anyway, no delivery. Next morning I’m looking on tracking and it said “delivered”. I looked all over ( and I’d been home all day. Nada. I called them and was told “it was left by the front fence at the end of the driveway”.😳 . What the he double hockey sticks? My drive is well over a quarter mile long, and the fence by the driveway entrance is completely hidden from the house. Went up there, and sure enough, there’s the cardboard box, sitting in the snow by the gatepost (no gate) where it’d been since the previous afternoon! They “couldn’t make it up the driveway” and just left it by the roadside😳. Bloody idiots!
