yeah, my range has it's annual christmas shoot contest. shoot a christmall ball and break it, from 25 yards away...
took my D/W Heritage.
5 shots for $5.00
oh, i hit the target, just not that dang ball.
then proceeded to wipe out a target at my usual 7 yards distance.....
took the D/W home to field strip, clean, and lube.
got it apart, started to swab the slide, and......."WTF"...?? where's the front fiber optic..???
i was shooting at both targets with out that fiber optic.
earlier that morning, i removed the slide, to check for lubrication, that's when it must have fallen out, cuz it was right there on the cleaning pad, in a folded corner.
no way for me to melt the original one, gonna have to buy fiber optic replacements now, cheap enough at midway.
but i gotta check ALL my gun boxes, i am sure i have spare optics, from another 1911...just not in the D/W boxes, that i already checked.
or maybe just leave it alone, made no real difference, as wiping out that second target was eazy-peezy.....
gonna go again this morning, this time with my RIA 22 mag.
if i win today, imma gonna buy me some cranberry juice, Little Debbie snack cakes, and get drunk, and raise my sugar level.
