First time nerves. Did my first shoot.

Shooting steel is typically more laid back than shooting USPSA. Shooting from a box is a good place to start. Use high capacity mags and change up between exercises before running out and losing precious seconds having to reload mid-stream. Find a group that is not totally anal and that is helpful. You can learn alot this way. Sign up early enough to get on their squad regularly. You will make great friends and your skills will definitely improve. Have fun!

First off, congratulation for giving it a try. Definitely stick with it if you can.
I have fallen off and need to get back into it.

What kind of shooting was it?

My club does practical pistol, usually with a round count of less than 20, and one required mag change.

It's enough to really humble you. Points deducted for misses of hitting the good guys.

Was yours something similar?

The one I did was a Halloween Zombie shoot. So basically it was dark and foggy. It was actually fun to do and made Sunday range day little bit different. It’s definitely worth looking into something that fits my 2nd shift schedule.
