BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A 26-year-old man in Florida was arrested in a case the sheriff says is "Breaking Bad on steroids."
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) announced on Dec. 3 a massive drug and explosives seizure following the arrest of 26-year-old Maxwell Horvath. According to officials, agents confiscated approximately 92,000 pounds of an illegal substance suspected to contain a concentration of 7-OH, with an estimated street value of $4.7 million.
In addition to the narcotics, investigators say they discovered five improvised explosive devices (IEDs), grenade simulators, 50 pounds of precursor chemicals, and an arsenal of firearms, including two fully automatic submachine guns, rifles, pistols, shotguns, suppressors, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Horvath, who previously served time for possession of explosive devices and MDMA trafficking, now faces 36 counts of firearm possession by a convicted felon, along with charges for explosives and weapons violations, according to the sheriff's office.
