I was almost an adult when i learned a few protesters got paid. During my vo-tech years we went to get lunch from a good deli "downtown". We saw a few people with signs and protesting about a bill/law someone didn't want to pass. We had to park around the corner from the protesters and walk past them. As we're walking past a dude he's away from the testers talking about if he had to give money to the testers. We get around the corner and one of the testers came to us to start their rant and would we join them. I said "we are students in school getting lunch "illegaly" so we can't test with yous but i wouldn't test until i got as much money as the guy around the corner got paid" and we went to get our food. A few minutes we get out and half the testers were gone and so only protesters were there...
