Right or Wong, when I was a toddler, I think most people, including law enforcement, would have called something like this event an accident. Now, even gun owners are lobbying for severe punishment. This is a huge change in public perception.

as a former cop, you may have seen/heard this, as a former trucker, i have been made aware from my safety dept about this..

many years ago, there was a "crash and claim" insurance scheme going on. (CA, IL,) to name at least 2 states

one car would be loaded with people, then a lead car.

they would get into traffic, get in front of a big rig. lead car would slam on the brakes, follow car (loaded with people) would get rear-ended, by the big rig.

people would get hurt, later in this scheme, someone would die.

women, CHILDREN in that car.

a child or two were eventually killed.

when the child died, an informant ratted.

lawyers, doctors were involved.

what am i getting at..??

I’m curious on if he was under supervised release, out on bond or OR. Obviously with Mom in the car by herself when it happened is a bigger picture than some random thug that shouldn’t have had a gun but just curious.

It’s the small things. Like the one bolt holding a license plate on at an angle usually leads to a bigger criminal indicator!

Unfortunately I've seen what happens to the inside of a vehicle when a person is shot in the head. Burning it was probably the best option.
