For the nerds ONLY...

When I took UNIX classes in college, I had a knee deep pile of textbooks. My SIL took a UNIX course while he was working towards his cyber security degree. His textbook, note that is singular while mine was a mountain, was tantamount to cliff notes!
When PC for instrument control first became a thing for us, I had to jam WAIT statement into our unix code to allow the 386s to catch up.

Nowadays, PC controls fly and you could store your textbooks on a thumbdrive. Maybe your watch.

And I have zero interest in doing so.
