Friday Gunday

SimonRL

Hellcat
Well, I trudged off to the range without my usual partner-in-crime Mrs. SimonRL, sorry I meant @KillerFord1977. I just wasn’t feeling it today and only shot 100 rounds. I took the 226 Legion and the Shadow Systems DR920 Elite and warmed up with each using 4 in targets at 12yds and then 15 and 20 yds. I was ok at 12, but 15 and 20 I just couldn’t get the red dot to settle down, even with controlled breathing. So I picked myself up by booking a 2 hr private tactical pistol course for me and Mrs - err - @KillerFord1977. I’m sure we will regale you with epic poems of our adventure.

Sig 226. This thing is a guided missile launcher, but when you’re having a so-so day it will remind you.

DR920. This is a really great gun, but it’s a super Glock and has a Glock-type trigger that is hard to adjust to after firing something else. Typically my first shot is significantly low - or as was the case today, the first four shots, which you can see low and left of the 12 yd target. I eventually warmed up to the trigger, but I was struggling with the dot. I have a ZEV connector coming that is supposed to lighten up the trigger. We will see.

On each target I shot 20 rds at 12 yds and 15 each at 15 and 20yds. I’ll probably have another go tomorrow and channel my inner Mr. Miyagi. Wax off, wax on.
