I just got my first Springfield pistol and it has worked extremely well :). Would anybody know what is the size of the front sight in 1911 Loaded 45 ACP and where could I get one? My eyesight isn't what it used to be, need more colour to the front sight. Thanks for any possible help.

SA uses an odd .60 degree angle on some of their 1911 pistols, whereas most manufacturers use .65 degree. Call Springfield or check with Kensight to confirm the correct size.

#1 - Call SA Customer Service

For info sake SA uses an unauthorized copy of the well-known Novak-type site according to Novak.

So don't assume that even though the SA 1911 Loaded looks like it uses Novak sites that the site heights that Novak recommend s would be the same.

But according to this from Novak...

Standard Sight Height Recommendations For Government and Commander Length Models:

With Novak Sights:
Front - .180" Blade / Rear - Fixed LoMount Carry
Front - .180" Blade / Rear - LMA LoMount Adjustable Carry
Front - .225" Blade / Rear - ALM Adjustable
**ALM sight has to have forward relief cut on the rear Novak dovetail**

Without Novak Sights:
Front - Existing Sight on Slide / Rear - DCR Carry
**This is only for slides with the taller 70 series type sights. These type of slides can be machined for the LoMount Sights if desired.**

You, or a gunsmith would have to measure the sight height on your existing front sight, if you can't get the info from SA.
