Gatorade

Belt Fed

SAINT
I have drank a lot of that stuff in heat like this, whether it's cutting wood or anything. now i drink it to keep from cramping up after sweating bad all day. Now for the complaining, have you noticed how weak it is now. it's about half strength from what it used to be. the cheap suckers is saving money by not making it strong as it was, even the other power drinks like powerade are weak. they almost taste like water.

You think the prices went down cause they use less powder? NOPE. why take a good product and screw it up. guess it's best to buy the powder and make your own. and yeah do i Really need to make a thread about gatorade? yes i did.

Rant over

When I was doing turnarounds in refineries in the summer, we used a hydration drink called Sqwincher.
Ours had a lot of sugar and low sodium; they also have a low sugar drink.

I bought the crew the hydration stuff, slightly better, it's 4 times better than water alone. Amazon has it. The guys were on the roof in the summer, in the PHX valley, temps were 115⁰ and under the panels, 155⁰!

I've been drinking this lately. At my age I don't need all the sugar if I'm drinking 5 or 6 a day.

If one is on the worksite, or athletes in hot weather (our two a days are already underway) replacing electrolytes, sodium and calcium ions is absolutely critical. Without these nerves and muscles cannot fire properly and/or cramping as mentioned above. However, outside of those environments I see students and adults constantly drinking straight water over and above needed hydration. It's like a reflexive habit. Over hydration, hyponatremia, causes the needed electrolytes to become diluted to the point I've seen students drowsy, lethargic, confused, etc. (though that may not be entirely due to the water). That's your cautionary physiology lesson for today.

About ten years ago i learned the hard way to drink something other than water. It was over 100 degrees and i worked all day from sunup to almost sundown cutting wood. i didn't have far to go as it was across the street but i cut, loaded and unloaded three truckloads of oak.

I bled sweat all day and drank plenty of water but that night after i had a bath and sit in the recliner i started cramping up, i mean felt like every muscle in my body was trying to cramp. i would move to try and get one out and another in a different place would hit. It was horrible. my wife went and got me some gatorade and i drank two big bottles of it. after a bit it eased up.

The two muscles inside the upper leg will bring tears to your eyes when they cramp. i never made that mistake again. i always drink water and gatorade. This new stuff is so weak i doubt it will work. I will try some of that stuff ya'll mentioned. i don't need the drinks with caffiene.
