General Gray

For we Marines General Gray was a Marine’s Marine.
I was at Camp Pendleton visiting a friend, Sgt Maj of the 1st Marine Division. He told me to be sure and attend the opening of Wounded Warrior West. Of course i went and General Gray was there; many dignitaries also.

I just read that he died today at the ripe old age of 95. I’m sure he had some stories to tell from his 41 years of service. I also learned he is a jersey boy, like me. Born in point pleasant, nj (at the shore) and grew up in rahway.

I read that wrong. He was born in rahway and grew up at the beach. Even better!

Wow. His career is impressive. Rose through the ranks from an enlisted man to commandant.
