I disagree. That woman was far more likely to shoot accidently shoot herself, someone else, or commit suicide by having that gun in the house. She doesn't need a gun because that's what 911 and the trained law enforcement we want to refund are for. Plus, no one should be shot or have their life taken for burglary because that's cruel and unusual punishment. She should just let the guy come in and take what he wants.

I think it’s irresponsible to expect the local LEO’s to be on scene in time to stop/prevent crime. A handful of individuals cannot possibly be everywhere exactly when needed. Hence the need to take responsibility for your own safety. I live in the country. At night there is a better than even chance that the Deputies on duty will be at the other, far more populated, end of the county. A response time of 20-30 minutes is NOT unreasonable. In the event of a burglary or assault unless YOU act in self defense the crime will be done and the thug(s) long gone before any help arrives
