God, could have waited a while longer.

He spent his last few days with other men who shared and experienced the most hellish time of their lives. He then died peacefully on soil he fought to protect and liberate from Nazis.
I find it somewhat poetic and fitting that he died this way. It may very well have been God’s plan.

well actually, he died in Germany at a hospital, not in France.

yes, he was with many others going there, but he was cheated out of the ceremony.

many others never got that close as he was.

the Vets from that time, are dying often now due to age and health, he was so close to that gathering.

Yes, i knew he died in Germany. Still all the same though.
Death comes like a thief in the night.
