Got my John Rourke on today

Well not exactly but close. A pair of Officer Model (3 1/2") size 1911s in 45 acp, in a double shoulder holster A 38 Spl revolver worn behind right hip, and a AG Russell Sting behind left hip. I really like the setup.

(BTW Ive got a lead on a guy to make Milt Sparks Six Pack clone.)

I had to make some modern concessions for availability. Rourke used Detonics Combat Masters (made before the Colt Officer Model). His holster was a double rig made by Alessi. Instead of thumb snaps the Alessi rig had pull through snaps in the triggerguard (just grab the gun and pull). My double shoulder holster was made by MASC. Its every bit as nice as the Galco Miami Classic and was available when I placed the order. John also had a 357 magnum Colt Lawman snub nose and a black chrome AG Russell Sting. It all carries surprisingly well, the lightweight Charter Arms helps.

He also sometimes carried TWO double mag pouches for the Detonics when he wasnt using the Six Pack

I opted for a pair of Rock Island 3 1/2" 1911s with Kimber rubber grips instead of Pachmayr wrap around grips. My snub nose is a Charter Arms Undercover lite in 38spl. The knife is an early Russell/CRKT collaboration STING (same design just not an out of production collectable). The Detonics used 6 round mags; but the modern Officer Model mags carry 7 rounds.

IF I was Rourke today, I might still choose the twin 45s, because its cool to be "that guy". He also often carried a Colt python in a strong side flap holster. Today Id opt for a Freedom Arms Premier grade single action in 454 Casull in a flap crossdraw holster and a Judge Public Defender for the ability to use 45 Colt (which would also work in the Freedom Arms) and the occasional .410 shot shell. John used a Colt CAR 15 with a Colt 4x scope mounted on the carry handle and a Steyr SSG69 (308). Today Id pick an 11" AR with a red dot and either MK12 SPR or a M110 (308/762 NATO). Id also want a suppressor for the rifles. A PVS 14 Night Vision and/or maybe a Thermal seems like it belongs somewhere in the kit.

Get your Rourke on....
