Forums in general are dying. I belong to several that not too many years ago were hopping with folks, not so much now. Most have a core few that post. The younger generation has all but abandoned buttbook for tiktok, Snapchat, X and others of that type of platform.
I was just giving a younger cousin some grief about too much time on buttbook, his quick response was, UGH thats for old people.

yes, to this day, i belong to several trucking forums......they too had their posters that were very helpful..but then, "newbies" would come in and post stupid

, or the ask very same questions others did, without using the "search feature".
how many times can the members continuously read: "i am a 2 time felon loser, can i still get a trucking job".?
the older people would insult them for their ignorance, of ignoring the rules, and load up the forums with the same ole, same ole.
then too..comes the costs of ALL forums..the owners "gave in" to google or others for the cash flow, then came all the ads, unless you paid for a membership..screw that

.
then too came the Moderator BOTS, and even the human moderators would be cranking down on the people that help make those forums, and even the newbies for "words" of "pictures", that break the rules of "decency, or a family to be at".
i'll tell you what....i cannot and to this day ever believe little 5 year old Jimmu or 8 year old Jane actually spend thier time on trucking forums, gun forums, or car forums, when those "littel ones" have their own places on the interweb to be at.
money drives the internet, advertising and the advertises.....RULE what is said and done on ALL forums.
onc a founder of a forum flounders due to the high cost of running his/her forum..??
they sell out to google, or a consortium of forums, and things go down hill after that.
