Such as hat makers in the early 1900’s used Murcury to remove the fur from all the animals to make felt hats. Thus the term, “mad hatter” as murcury leads to massive brain damage amoung other severe issues.
Other products had radiation, etc ..

I loved the kids toys episode, I remembered so many, lol. Thr old steel 2 story slides which cooked your butt lol. And lawn Jarts my fav. And thing maker. It was a great time to be a kid lol.

Have to wonder how many of us grew up being exposed to radium dials:

Radium dials are watch, clock, and instrument dials painted with luminous paint containing radium-226, which produces radioluminescence, allowing them to glow in the dark. They were widely used in the early to mid-20th century, particularly in vintage watches, to enhance visibility. However, the radioactive nature of radium posed significant health risks to workers who applied the paint and to consumers over prolonged exposure. While radium paint is most dangerous when inhaled or ingested, the risk is lower when it is contained within a well-sealed watch. Despite their appeal among collectors, concerns about radiation exposure persist.
