Heavy Competition Guns

For USPSA and Steel Challenge, I like a heavy gun and run similar 2011 setups for Limited Optics and Open (while my Carry Optics gun is my Echelon). Here’s the SCSA Open gun, a MAC 9 DS-D Comp with an MPA DS9 steel grip and furniture.

8 lb variable recoil spring, 15 lb mainspring, typically running 85 gr Norma ammo.

53.5 ounces of fun, unloaded.

And here’s the cousin, a Staccato P with a Cheely steel grip. This one runs 165gr Stelth to make power factor. It sits just under 52 oz.

The crew at our local matches would laugh, but if you showed up and could shoot, too, it’d be a story for years.
