Hellcat-Exclusive Viridian RFX11 Green Dot Review

I bought a used Hellcat a few years ago. It came with what I believe is the factory installed Sheild SMSc red dot. I’ve been less than impressed with it. Will the Viridian be a mechanical direct swap? Obviously will need to sight it? Thanks

Does it have to be removed from the gun to change batteries? I couldn't find a top view to see if it is top load but it is obviously not side load. That would be a deal breaker for me.

my hell cat i picked up... hmm early last year came with a viridian green optic
i liked it so much, i got one for the XD 9mm service and a new slide from SA

viridian customer service was tops when i need a screw, he sent me many for free

Just bought the hellcat pro comp os. Put 38 rounds down range and walla. Viridian stopped working. Changed batteries. turned on then went off. no wake up. ok. Battery change, same thing. Contacted viridium, they emailed me a mail label, sent off for return. Who knows when I'll a replacement back. Quick customer service tho so we shall see

Welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. Let's hope your optic gets turned around soon. Let us know. I'd be interested in how Veridian treats you.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Welcome to the forum from the mountains of West Virginia, sorry to hear the Viridian hasn't worked out. Let us know the outcome.

The RFX11 is one of the worst optics you can put on a pistol and it annoys me that so many companies bundle this pos like they are doing the buyer a favor. The RFX11 is know for the cheap plastic window popping out or the optic just crapping out altogether. And the auto brightness is always too bright. The body is made of polymer, not even 6061 aluminum - which is typically considered entry level on an optic. The shame about this is that Viridian makes some decent, affordable priced optics like the RFX15 and RFX 35. The RFX11 though is just a waste of money.

Seems like a good optic. I'm kind of partial to the "circle-dot" reticle configuration available with Holosun, C&H Precision, etc. But if I was looking for a plain Jane dot, I'd consider this one.
I shoot dot only at the range when shooting steel. I often use the circle/circle with dot when carrying with an optic. I like practicing with the dot only at 10-15 yards on steel because I feel it enhances my presentation/dot acquisition. When I put the paper up at 3-7 yards the circle makes acquisition and hits, cake ;)
