I though that's what the first box of ammo was for. What are you experts using to clean and remove the film from a brand-new gun???
i wish i could have temp/humidity controlled room....or a house in fact.I run my EDC dry but clean frequently. This greatly reduces lint attraction. Stored firearms are cleaned with Hoppes #9 and then wiped down with a silicone impregnated cloth. I'd probably look at different options if I lived somewhere that had high humidity or dampness. As it stands now, my firearms and ammunition are stored in a humidity and temperature controlled room.
what i bolded and underlined.Everybody is different. I've always kept it simple. Hoppe's #9 for cleaning and Hoppe's oil and Rig grease for lube. All of which are pretty cheap and readily available at most any sporting goods store or gun shop.
If it turns, oil it. If it slides, grease it.![]()
on this i will not do...run it dry when it is my EDC...reasons for me areI run my EDC dry but clean frequently. This greatly reduces lint attraction.
That may very well be but to my eyes looks like Santa has a Beretta.Glocks don’t need hardly any lubrication, so no fuzz bunnies in the action…… just sayin……Glock Perfection….ho…ho…ho….View attachment 100115

My "gun room" is the nicest part of this shack! It took a long time to build and the vault door was the most expensive part that had to be paid for all at once. Fortunately I don't have to fight extreme humidity but i do have a programmable 71 quart dehumidifier that I plumbed a drainage tube into the bathroom drain that is on the other side of one of the walls. The drywall and the other stuff was done over time.i wish i could have temp/humidity controlled room....or a house in fact.
but this old house (literally) has so many drafts, i cannot afford to pay for a full insulation job.....
the cost for THIS old house, is prohobitive.
no way, no how, in HELL did i ever, or will ever lube ANY of my 1911's like in that article.Ignore the product, read the advice and why: https://www.cherrybalmz.com/post/secrets-of-1911-reliability-how-to-lube-for-maximum-performance
I personally use FP-10 and Slide Glide.
