Here We Go Again - Another Gun Control Plan w/ZERO Consequences for Criminals

And the dominos keep falling. Let’s hope the State Republicans stand their ground (pun intended)!

Can anybody explain what Walz’s proposals would do to have prevented these tragedies (from the article)?

“In June, state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot and killed at their Brooklyn Park home. Authorities said the same shooter, Vance Boelter, also wounded state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette earlier in the night.

Two months later, a shooter opened fire at Annunciation Catholic Church during a school mass, killing 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski. More than 20 other people were wounded.”

I'm all for common sense gun control, but the Democrats have always approached the issue(s) from a flawed position. Things like virtue signaling (like having so-called "victims" speak) and proposed laws that impose responsibility on people (reporting lost or stolen guns, safe storage, etc.) are just not ever going to work.

Like, who are they to tell me how to live my life? (from the article: "Elected officials have a duty to protect us from guns. No one should have to go through what we went through at Annunciation." Say what??)

Same with the bans or so-called restrictions on high-capacity magazines (like, what in the heck exactly is that? And who came up with 10 rounds as the baseline?). Please stop trying to do a better job at protecting us from ourselves and others.

For as long as we've been out of the Garden of Eden, we're going to sin. It's human nature.

Interestingly, what has always struck me is the gun control debate seems to be the one debate that the parties take opposite sides when they should not (i.e., Democrats should be anti-restriction, and Republicans should be pro-restrictions).

the (d) always blame the inanitimate object, not the criminal that uses it, failing to address criminal activity.
Then they go so far as to actually let criminals out of prison.

More than one who had been released under the Branden autopen have been rearrested for major crimes. Lets look at it on another plane, if they now charge parents for their children's crimes then Joe Biden should be arrested for these crimes as well...
They would NEVER have happened if they were still in prison!

I think the disconnect is expecting any thing (government or otherwise) to protect you. To make it worse the courts have long since determined that the police have NO Obligation to protect individuals. Its a kabuki theatre.

I realize WE all know this but its the convincing others that THEY are responsible for their lives. "Asking the government to protect you is slave mentality" thats the bumper sticker we should be waving

As a famous comedian said “you can’t fix stupid”. They really don’t get it. Walz among others is an idiot on so many levels. Clearly haven’t figured out the criminals especially so many repeat offenders need to be locked up. They’ve proven they don’t belong free in our society.
Here in Connecticut there’s a new bill to ban glocks due of the ability to illegally modify them into auto fire. Every Glock & Glock clone like your and my Echelon will become illegal. Same guys doing these mods can easily modify the limited capacity 10 round magazines mandated here. It’s the criminals aka people that want to do harm. The pistols will be rendered useless then worthless and FLL’s won’t be able to take them in trade. The bill has a get out of jail free card if you just turn it over to the “proper authorities”. The old adage locks are for honest people seems appropriate. It’s the same with guns. The criminals will find a way around this just like lock on our doors. They always do.
