Some more history. I did a little digging, but it appears there is no registry of those that have earned the badge, or of personnel currently on civilian shooting teams who might have earned said badge.

Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)

Congratulations to MAJ Samuel Freeman, who was the top competitor in the President's Shootoff!

Each year, the top 20 competitors of the President's Rifle Match meet on the firing line for a 10-shot shootoff to determine the overall winner.

This will be the second time MAJ Freeman will be bringing home the President's Rifle Trophy.

I served with a guy who was Presidents 100 for pistol. The AMU wanted him but he refused the assignment. He could take an off the rack 1911 and make 200 meter hits and make it look easy. You have to remember that the rack pistols were our regular duty guns and literally rattled when you shook them. The old joke was "If it doesnt rattle it doesnt go to battle"

I thought I was a good shot, qualifying as EXPERT (really not that hard) and working on Distinguished (gave up before I had the points); but this guy was phenomenal

The cool thing is the Presidents 100 tab is worn ABOVE all other service tabs (Ranger, Special Forces, Airborne, Sapper etc) because its a Permanent Special Presidential Award

Very infrequently does a shooter earn them both in the same week ... but this month's Rising Shooting Star, Amanda Wright, did just that.

Amanda Wright of Erie, Pennsylvania earned both her P100 tab and final points towards her Distinguished Rifleman’s Badge at the 2021 National Matches. She accomplished these feats at 19 years old, attending as a member of the All-Guard Rifle Team.
