Hero stopped trans shooter

A brave man, indeed. Wise? I'm not so sure. I wonder if he'd had done it if he'd known the transvestite would be pulling a loaded pistol out of his pocket? The tranny had the option of killing the hero instead of himself, but IMO, he evidently only wanted to kill his family and no others, or he would have.
All in all, the man did what came instinctually to him. Can't fault him for that.

If I saw that freak in the stands, I would have never sat my family remotely close to him from the start.

some people act on instinct.....without thinking...just minutes ago on my local news, yet another good samaritan came forward, and said so himself...

it's that "protect the ones i am with, or those i know".

the tranny, has had at the very least, fathered kids with 3 different women..i guess he thought he was a stud...??

one son, set fire to a Black church about 2 years ago...i think he was charged with a hate crime, but i'd have to look that up, as he did have Nazi "stuff" in his bedroom.

the nuts don't fall far from the nuts and fruit tree's.

according to yet another news story, the tranny's mother died a week or 2 ago, she told the family, she did not want him/her there, when that were to happen........supposedly, that sparked his rampage, everyone knew the old woman died, but him.....

Kevin Colantonio, who is serving time for trying to burn down a Black church, is the son of the identified Pawtucket ice rink shooter. See link below

Im just thinking how differently this would have happened in a CCW friendly state? Of course Im also wondering how it would have turned out if there was a hard look at mental health by people who werent mentally ill?

More than likely it would have been the same outcome. In just about all of the country, school sporting events are considered federal gun free zones, even for those with a valid CCW. I think the majority of CCW holders are law abiding citizens and would not have been armed. I'm not saying all of them, but the majority. And I would bet that most blue states would prosecute those CCW holders even if their illegal act of carrying saved lives.

A CCW holding hero wearing a red hat would be charged with a hate crime.

school sporting events
Was this on school property? Does that matter?

As a cop (in a blue state) I used to tell folks "concealment means CONCEALMENT. Id have to wonder if a citizen stopped a mass shooter with an otherwise legal CCW in a gun free zone if there would have been any serious ramifications. As in "Hey thanks for stopping that crazy guy/terrorists but we're gonna have to arrest you because you had a gun in a gun free zone"? Im sure its location dependent but those are locations where I wonder why people stay

I'm not sure about where the game was being played, and I'm not from Rhode Island, but I'm pretty sure CCW is not allowed in that case. If it was on school grounds, then federal law applies.

The shooting occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, inside the Rhode Island Hockey Arena in Pawtucket, not on traditional school grounds. It took place during a high school hockey game between Coventry and North Smithfield, resulting in two deaths and three critical injuries before the suspect died of a self-inflicted wound.

i do not know if with school kids there, it is in any way considered "school grounds" for that particular event....???

and i am not certain of any other "school events" take place there.

i live here, but i don't know all the cities with thier events private or school.

so as such, i'd not know RI's laws on if ccw would have been allowed or not...sorry.

More than likely it is up to the state to decide about school events not on school grounds. So I don't know what the law in Rhode Island says about that. I don't live in Rhode Island. But on public school grounds, it is a federal law that they are gun free zones. That information should be known by all CCW holders. That federal law is easily googled. And as far as I know, been in place for I think close to 30 years. Maybe someone would like to volunteer by trying out the law.

Rhode Island ranked #13 for the strictest gun laws of all states. See how well those laws prevented trannyboy from shooting his family? Let's pile on more gun laws. That should resolve all gun-related crime. :p

It would depend on state law . Many states , including mine , also include Organized School Events off campus .
