History's defining moments

I wrote a paper in college, we used ink a quill feathers back then; that history is really told in a timeline of wars and battles, everything else is just the lead up to a war or the aftermath. I say this now after binging on the various Alamo movies. It should be no surprise that the fight at the Alamo was a defining moment, followed by the ultimate doom and defeat of Santa Anna at San Jacinto.

The similarities with the Napoleon/Wellington are are briefly referenced in the 2004 movie version. What few ever mention is both the war in Europe and Texas were essentially fought with the same weapons, smoothbore muskets (mostly the Brown Bess and Baker Rifles)

Defining moments

A person would be hard pressed to make a case that wars don't define history. Only the birth of Christ is a significant event not affiliated with conflict.

Then again, the arrival of the Messiah began a different sort of war. Not for territory or conquest, but for salvation and life. For which I am truly grateful.
