Hollywood Gun Fights

First, Im an action movie junky; but I find Im constantly picking apart many of the gunfight scenes. I can get past the safety "click" sound they add to Glocks; but its when guys refuse to shoot a bad guy holding a hostage whoes got half his body and whole head exposed at a range of six feet. I keep shouting Shoot Shoooooot.

There ARE a few movies/shows that got it RIGHT. "13 Hours at Benghazi" had really good weapons manipulation and for those of you who remember the British show "Strike Back" the weapons were handled like they were professionals. As I recall Don Johnson did a pretty good job in "Miami Vice" and "Harley Davidson", especially the "maybe you wont even twitch" scene. On an aside, Johnson was supposedly into guns and really took to the Bren Ten. Conversely Phillip Michael Thomas (Tubbs) reportedly was un comfortable with guns and thats why he was given the J Frame and a Sawed Off SxS because they were simple. They also got it right in HEAT

There werent many gun fight scenes in the 1960s "I Spy" but Robert Culp was a gun guy and suggested the design of his custom P38. Cosby also wasnt a gun guy so he was given a stock 1911.

Any good gun fight scenes?

The 40's movies were the worst...PUSHING their pistol at their target every time they fire.
Then, even in today's movies, two guys draw on one another and wait, like it's some kind of dare. The guy who fires wins. Duh.
Of course, there are all those sparks each time a round hits, no matter what it hits.

There was one movie I thought had a fairly realistic gunfight at the OK Corral...Lots of rounds fired at close range and lots of misses. Like it would be.

Well, they had to throw the bullets out of their guns..........
