My only concern is someone making it upstairs before the 4 legged flea bags wake me up. I do have one dog that is pretty good about alerting to inordinate noises downstairs. Although he has awaken me because ice crashed down into an empty bin in the freezer, I always positively reinforce his waking me up.Low light classes are very beneficial.

90% of my household lighting is smart bulbs. In the app, I have a group set up that with a single click, I can turn on all of the downstairs lighting.
There is a little pop out at the top of the stairs that I fortified with 3/8" plate steel in case I need a "safer" place to shoot from. I pulled the flooring back, removed the plywood floor, and had a 5' X 5' steel plate installed so I cannot be shot through the floor from below. I also replaced the drywall with 4' X 4' peices of steel as well giving me a nice little perch to disallow anyone from making it up the stairs.
Decades ago I was the victim of a home invasion robbery. Although some consider me paranoid, I decided I would never be a victim inside of my own home ever again. Furthermore, unless I am asleep or in the shower, I always have my trusty Model 457 hanging on my side.
