I take a slightly different approach with home-defense.

Instead of worrying about overpenetration, I simply plan for it - in knowing that there's no magic bullet that will achieve good terminal ballistics on a threat but will not harm anything else, I've positioned lanes/angles-of-fire so that I know that in the event of a miss, the backdrop is clear.

I liked the testing, but the SEAL made some inaccurate references. Listen at about 21:40 and 27:55. He should have known better. Maybe he got his information from the general from the CNN video.

Yes, but professionals aren't perfect either. It's good though, that we all strive to be.

One of my biggest concerns when choosing my carry ammo. My 9mm has 13.5" of penetration and my 45acp has 14.5" in layered gelatin which should be more than adequate for my daily life. Home or away
