How did COVID change you?

@PieterCoetzee I have the story you were looking for.

I got covid in March of 20. I was diagnosed with long covid 3 months later. I could barely function. I couldn’t climb the 1 flight of stairs in my house without stopping multiple times. It was like a super flu. It peaked during the summer and started relenting by August. I was “symptom free” in November…9 long months later.

I attribute two things to COVID.
First, the weight gain (30 pounds) when I was barely eating anything.
It’s my fault the weight has stayed on all these years later but that’s a different story.

Second, my brain. Since Covid I have shown a marked decline in both memory and processing. My conversion of short term memories into long term has been degraded. I can’t remember who I talked to yesterday or tasks I’m supposed to be working on at the office. I have to leave myself post it notes about each project and the details. I process info at a slower speed now too. I’ve noticed definite lag in how quickly I respond to things. Like a 90 yr old man driving.
None of this happened before Covid.

People don’t believe me. They think I’m lying for attention or something else was wrong with me. There wasn’t btw, they ran every blood, urine, and mucus test on me. I got a MRI of the brain to look for tiny strokes. The whole 9 yards.

It’s been 6 years and nothing has changed. I got covid 2 more times and it was like a sorta bad cold.

I am pro vaccines in general and am very much anti- forced, MRNA, gene therapy covid vaccines.

You got hell of a crappy hand from that dealer...there seems to be no rhyme or reason for severity of symptoms.

My mental acuity has degraded also, perhaps not as bad as yours. I can still function in the classroom likely because of the teaching the same subjects though with slight differences from year to year.

I don't know if it was covid, the jab, past head trauma(s) from long ago that finally caught up with me, or simply ageing. But I've noticed I have had serious issues recalling names of restaurants, movie titles, actors, etc. Whereas I can go off on technical rants professionally and splatter my audience with accurate information from my long term storage.

My older brother is an MD. He refused to take the jab and lost his hospital privileges in CO during the hoax. He strongly suggested the family refuse the jab. I unfortunately had the choice of losing my job or taking the jab. I very reluctantly took the jab. Once detrimental consequences of the jab can reliably be proven, I plan to sue the living :poop: out of the company that forced me.

Again, I don't know, and cannot prove the memory issues I experience had anything to do with the jab. I can, however, say I find it extremely interesting that I hear the very same issues I am experiencing from others that bear similarities to me (age, general health, symptoms).

I had Covid in March of 20 but other than it being like a Super flu for 5 days I bounced out of it quickly. Didn't/haven't gotten it again.

What got me was the Pfizer Covid shot (it was never a vaccine) the next year that messed me up, giving me two types of neuropathy, and worst it really messed up my GI system with a side-effect of sending my blood pressure way up (never had any BP issues before the shot and after Covid but prior to the shot (BTW -never got any boosters).

My Corporate PCP denied my symptoms a lot so I mainly figured things things out, based on my professional background, and finally convinced the PCP that I needed high BP med, & on my own found special pre/pro-biotic to rebuild my gut micro-flora. Both of those have been successful but I'm still dealing with the cumulative effects of my gut being messed up for years, & I'll likely be stuck on BP meds for the duration.

IMO what helped me prior to Covid that I had gotten my pneumonia vaccines (real vaccines) which helped me kick Covid since both a respiratory. Most folks that passed went from pneumonia since Covid had weakened their systems enough to let pneumonia kick in, and was much more lethal.

My advice is for folks to get their pneumonia vaccinations

But the shots also killed folks due to allergic reactions. A friend of mine had her heart stop briefly 2X after getting the Moderna shot in 21.

They changed the traditional definition of a "Vaccine" to accommodate the shots since they're really only therapeutics and don't prevent infection nor transmission.
I had the Moderna vaccine and my wife had the Pfizer. I now have neuropathy and her Alzheimers started accelerating. We got her Alz under control. My issues have stayed about the same and the only position I can sleep well in is sitting up.

I've also have the 'vid three times now. First time was like the flu, second and third were like a cold and doses of Nyquil took care of the symptom pretty well. The wife had it twice and it hardly slowed her down.

Haven't had any of the shots since the first two and don't intend to again either.

The topic of this thread is a slippery slope. Years ago, just before COVID, I was a member of this forum under a different account and username. At the height of COVID, this topic was a very touchy subject. I was in the minority at the time. I questioned how safe the vaccine was. I expressed my views on why I didn't want to get the vaccine and finally refused to get the vaccine. I'm not going to go into all the details, but I was treated like a pariah on this forum because of my views. A lot of those old forum members are still here. I remember the loudest ones. Even some of the Admin of this forum are considered untrustworthy by me because of things that happened back in those days. I left this forum in disgust, and had the Admins wipe out my old account. A few years went by, and curiosity got the best of me. I started looking back into this forum. Not as a member, just as an outsider (in case some of you don't realize this, anyone can read all the posts on this forum without being a member, you just can't post or interact). About a year and a half ago I rejoined this forum under a new account and username. I sure hope things don't go south like they did back in those days in the current forum. And I don't want to even begin to relive the things I had to go through in real life under the scamdemic.
I hear that loud and clear. I left a couple of forums for the same reason.

I'm not surpised to hear of your plight and am entirely sympathetic. My wife's Alzheimers has accelerated since she got her first shot but wasn't obvious until a few months after the second of the first two. Someone who used to manage computer networks can no longer manage a check book. Trying to hold a conversation with her has become a heart-breaking affair.

All I can say is: keep pushing yourself, do puzzles, read as much as you can, keep posting. In short, stay as mentally active as you can and exercise as much as you can and my prayers are with you.

Guys I started this thread because as I said I kept hearing "Covid changed me". I do think it changed us as a culture, for a lot of the reasons many here have said. Please dont let this thread make you want to leave. I think we can learn from others experiences, even if we dont agree
I'm intrigued by some of the responses and glad to hear that some of us came through it in reasonably good shape physically. On the other hand, I've noticed a huge increase in the distrust of government in general and politicians in particular.

Humans are usually very social creatures and I'm astounded at the increase in rude and anti-social behaviors I've observed in larger cities. I don't go to large cities often but when I do I feel uncomfortable after a short time and can't wait to get out of there. Has anyone else noticed this?
