A Florida woman is accused of trying to smuggle cocaine into jail by hiding it inside her body.

Reagan Cox, 30, was arrested on Saturday, June 27, in Brevard County after allegedly resisting arrest during a traffic stop, according to inmate records and a statement from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

After being booked into the Brevard County Jail, Cox was screened with a body scanner, which reportedly detected an “abnormality” in her “lower region,” authorities said.

She was then taken to a private room for a more thorough search. During the search, authorities claim Cox tried to cover her buttocks with her hand.

When officers moved her hand, “a baggie dropped to the floor containing approximately 3.8 grams of cocaine,” the statement alleges.

According to the sheriff's office, Cox allegedly told officers she was unaware the substance was there, claiming someone must have put them there during an "intimate encounter."

Cox was then booked on an additional charge of bringing a controlled substance into a county detention facility, per the statement.

Online inmate records show Cox was released from custody that same day. It’s unclear if she has entered a plea to the charges or retained an attorney to speak on her behalf
 
Well, how did that get there. When I worked Jail Division, the common excuse was “I musta sat on it!”. One of the other jailers used to make them spread their cheeks with their hands and then put their fingers in their mouth to make, sure no contraband there!
 
I was trying to get off early one night because the movers were coming in the morning. The boss said "OK just transport this female to the Detention Center, then you can leave". That sounded like a deal, even though no one liked "transports"

So I took her and everything was fine. She cooperated. All her property matched the log. The COs were cool and quick, THEN as she walked through the metal detector, the buzzer sounded. So we had her back up and it sounded again. The CO got a wand and it "hit" just below her waist.

Thats when she "remembered" she had a gun "up there".

Its not as simple as letting her take it out, not even in private with a female CO to supervise. Noooooo first I had to take her back to the station, cuff her so she couldnt get access to her "Prison Pocket", THEN write a Search Warrant, and find an on call judge to wake up, drive to his house (at least his wife made coffee). Then get the Detention Center to find a doctor. Take her back to the Detention Center for the doctor to remove the gun. Then take her back to the station to for another report and to add another couple charges. Then taker her for another Bail Hearing. Then back to the Detention Center. But wait theres more because the gun had to be put into evidence.

Needless to say I not only didnt get off early but made Mrs PC deal with the movers
