How does everyone here view the Bersa Pistols in general?

Evidently, you don't understand how little the .32 gives up to the .380 in shooting tests. The cases are the same length (17mm), and in European load levels, the two are rather comparable.

I don't care what you've been told, the .380 doesn't perform well with expanding ammunition; the .32 does not fare any better. Ball ammunition is your friend. Accuracy and penetration are what work in these small handguns.

These are the facts.

The little Bersa 380’s have been around a Long time and I’ve never heard anything negative about ‘em-I’ve know a couple folks that had them and swore by them. One friend still carries one today that he’s had “forever”

Well first time I got confused and posted a reply in the wrong thread. Hell I hadn't started the Bourbon yet
It sure beats the hell out of sniffing burlap!

Well, at least trying to stay on topic and not hijack the thread, I have no personal experience with them. Based on long standing chatter, deserved or otherwise, I'm slightly negatively disposed toward them but not nearly enough to write them off. I have no idea of price point. If it is attractive enough I might try one some day to give it a fair test. Not sure if it would ever become pocket material but it could very well be good range material. It could fill the slot for a .32ACP choice. And turns out they don't do any .32 so nothing there for me. Guess I saved some money. :)

I have shot several Bersa's and my experience is that they are very good, well-made guns. The few people I've met that have owned Bersa's really like them and haven't had any problems. The Bersa Thunder .380 is a better, improved version of the Walther PPK/S -- and I owned and carried a PPK/S for many years.

The Bersa Thunder 32 is a marvelous bit of kit. People sell the "little .32" short, but shouldn't. As one reviewer stated, the Thunder .32's recoil is "charming". This is an apt depiction. I love the little pistol and find myself smiling every time I pull the trigger.

Bullet placement becomes natural, and the accuracy is superb. If you can find one, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Too many folks today have no idea the .32 acp was “the” police round of choice for many years in Europe. Heck it was even issued in some decent numbers as a military sidearm. Is it a .45? Nope, not even close. Can it do its intended job? Well, It did for years so there is that.. A couple decades ago I carried an NAA Guardian .32 every single day in a non permissive environment. Never got “made” and never felt unarmed,

Teddy Roosevelt was shot in the chest with a .32 (honestly I think it was a 32 S&W). The bullet was stopped by his speech that he had folded in his pocket. Yes 32 acp was popular in Europe as a police and military officers pistol BUT they were more a sign of authority or rank than serious sidearm. Europe never quite caught up to the US with a handgun as a serious weapon. Yeah James Bond carried a 32 cal PPK but he started with a 25 cal Browning.

Is 32 a defensive cartridge, Hmmmm IDK, is 22LR or 6.35 a serious choice? I guess it depends if you can schedule your attacker to come alone, without being hyped on drugs or steroids, or wearing thick or leather clothing. Theres a line in a John Wayne movie where he talks about a 22 pepperbox pistol being used against a lady who dressed out at 300 lbs and the hits not being effective. How many Americans are underweight?

If you insist that a 32acp is a good round then at least practice for head shots

I don't live in "movie land". (Motion pictures get it wrong most of the time.) The .32 ACP (in its proper FMJ/FP loading) is comparable to the .380 ACP when it comes to penetration. It was, in fact, the first self-loading pistol cartridge that used smokeless propellants. (That was in 1899). Modern propellants can push the 73-grain bullet to a healthy 975 fps, generating 154 fpe. This can penetrate 22 inches in Ordnance Gelatin. (This is sufficient enough to breach a human sternum and pierce the aorta and other organs).

I can controllably place 11 rounds of it in an area the size of a teacup. Since the average civilian shooting takes place within 1 and 7 yards, extended firefights are, for the most part, not in the offing.

p.s. All told, the Thunder .32 set me back $293.99 + $10.00 State Background Check.

I think they are by and large decent. I also think it’s worth saving money for another couple weeks to get a higher quality firearm, I’m boojie like that though.
I have several handguns chambered in 10mm Auto. Three of my favorites are my Glock 20, my custom Dan Wesson Razorback (#84 of the first 150), personally bespoke (handmade) for me, and my full-size Wonderfinish Witness.

I also have a Walther (Manhurin) PP in .32 ACP in pristine condition. The Bersa is easier to shoot in double action.

I don't need to be lectured about "saving up" for a better gun. I have plenty.
