It's pretty cool you got to speak to a legend like that! Man that would have been awesome if he tricked out your Vaquero. I watch Jerry Miculek now on YouTube he's a current living legend. Great personality and amazing skills.Yea, forgot him, my bad, I talked to him several times about sending him my Ruger Vaquero for him to work on, this was about the time he got sick and passed away, can’t believe I forgot him.
Yea, he was real nice to talk to, I met Jerry Miculek & Doug Koening and Michael Bane several years ago at the Pittsburgh NRA convention, got Jerry’s and Doug’s autographs also. Michael Bane was showing my brother and me the then new Ruger 1911, he was with the Ruger booth.
How many of you remember these famous gun personalities?
Elmer Kieth, father of the S&W .44mag
Bill Jordan, father of the K-frame .357mag
Jeff Cooper, father of combat shooting with the .45acp
Skeeter Skelton, Gun writer
Bob Milek, Gun writer
Jim Zumbo, Gun writer
Jack O’Conner, Gun writer
Charles Askins, Lawman & Gun writer
Just to name a few.
Mail call was my favorite show on history channel.Saw the gunny at the Glock booth at the same convention, but couldn’t get to meet him, line was way to long, would have taken hours to wait, would have been an honor to meet him.
History channel was great at one point then it went the way of the reality showLock & Load on Military History channel also.
He will be missedThe show not the same without Gunny. Still fun to watch.
