I agree, it depends on the intended use. I bought a pair of Nikon for bow hunting and they are really clear optics. It's kind of like anything else, buy as much as you can afford. I wouldn't go cheap though, IMHO.

As David said, all depends on intended use. In 2018 I wanted a pair just for the range, I found these on amazon for $90, they are on the larger size so a bit bulky, but the fill the need

My wife gave me these K Mart blue light specials about 35 years ago. I still use them occasionally.
