How to Exercise Your Right to Self-Defense

There is another option for concealed carry. A Sneaky Pete holster conceals your firearm but is in plain sight. You can even get one that holds your cell phone like the pictured one.

As I've gotten rather plump(overweight) in my elder years I've found I need suspenders. My waist is now larger than my skinny butt and hips. This stops me from wearing my shirt untucked. Mostly now I wear a vest, a heavy weight one from 511 when its colder and a light weight one when its hot from Tropic Concealed Vests. Another way is with a T shirt and an unbuttoned light weight shirt. The vests are cut long enough that I can use a OTW holster which is way more comfortable for me. Have to go IWB with the T shirt/cover shirt set up. My EDC is a S&W Shield in 40 cal with a spare 7 round mag. Gives me 21 rounds, the 7 and 6 rounders that came with it, a spare 7 round I purchased and 1 in the chamber. 1 spare mag in a weak side IWB holder, other 1 in a vest pocket
Where I live is now a constitutional carry carry state, open or concealed. But I still have my lifetime permit from before. And as far as I know one can still get a permit here for those that travel to states that honor our permit. Wasn,t to expensive when I got mine. $100 for the lifetime permit(was$80 for a 5 year permit, duh no brainer huh) I think it was $60 for the fingerprints and no courses or testing to take. But its been a long time ago so prices may have changed.

The email teaser from Springfield is titled, "HOW ANTI (AND PRO) GUNNERS BOTH UNDERMINE YOUR RIGHTS," but the article doesn't really address how pro-2A people undermine our rights.

The thought that comes to mind is: ignorance, and toxic tacti-bros who are out looking for a fight. An article posted here a few years ago took apart the self defense argument of an alleged road rage victim who, after defending himself successfully with his firearm from significant bodily harm after a vehicular assault, proceeded to execute at point blank range his attacker who was lying on the ground, posing no legitimate continued threat. These are the cases where pro-2A people undermine our rights, because, aside from mass shooters who are all mentally ill, they are the example held up by the anti-gun movement as to why there is no such thing as "a good guy with a gun."

I didn't see the original article. And yes, once the threat is stopped then no more rounds should be fired. Without reading the original article I can't say what category the person you reference would be in. I was only trying to comment on how I have learned to carry concealed and as to the differences in what it is required to obtain a permit in different states.

And yes one should train on shoot/don't shoot scenarios. And how to control the adrenional dump that occurs during a self defense event. But even with the best self training there is to be had no one knows exactly how they will react until it happens to them. And very few can afford that level of training. That said being poor should not remove one's right to self defense. And yes the ignorant and toxic tacti-bros do give the rest of us a bad reputation. But they still have a right to carry until they FAFO.
