How to get info on a model that was only produced for a short period of time? 1997 .45SUPER not ported or Lone slide.

I've had this gun for a while and I'm just curious on the history, and production numbers. The only good info I've ever found was using the web archives. 1997 was the only time I saw this gun on the site archive.

1997 .45SUPER PI45CUS. Years ago I was told yes it says custom on the part number but it didn't go through the custom shop. That was the best I got from Springfield customer service.

Just curious if anyone on here had access to any better info. This has none of the porting and is not a longside.

I was looking for more of the actual model info from Springfield. I’m curious how many they actually produced of this model. I think I’ve only seen 1 other. The rest of the .45 super stuff is the v16 that I’ve seen.
