i have (3) craftsman tool cabinets, i posted pics some time ago.
my particular situation for space, it would be a klustercluck to have ammo cans
i have a dehumidifier for the summer, and i bought large desiccant bags as well from amazon
no issues with any rusting....
(i only date my reloads) all new ammo gets rotated

I built wire shelves into my closet.
I live in a sub arid climate humidity is not an issue here

I store ammo in plastic 100 round ammo boxes. When I run out of those, I use .30 cal. ammo cans. The .50's get a bit heavy.

I/we store ammo in the gun safes, which are climate/humidity controlled. We do have some upstairs in the walk-in closet in ammo boxes also. The house is always at a low humidity.

i use them blue 100 round boxes, in temp and humidity controlled room
for almost all the range stuff
but the ZOMBIE attacks ammo stays in its factory box in the gun safe where its at a normal temp and low humidity
and the stuff the gov might look for is under my neighbors house in her crawl space in a locked sealed container......

I’ve got a couple cans of Aussie 7.62x51 that still have the lead seals on them. The ones I’ve opened also were vacuum packed for freshness…I could just give ‘em a jerk to pop open.
