We have extensive damage to the property from the hurricane. We are just getting cell ans some internet service. The people and our house and shop and cabin are fine.

Glad you are ok and so is home. Trees down is a pita but a lot better than damage to the house. Three yers ago for wife’s birthday family was in. Storm that night. Son headed back to VA and BIL to PA next morning. I’m walking the dog early and Three trees down across or 1/4 mile drive. There I am at 6 am with the tractor moving trees outta the way

Wow I have never seen so many power and tree service trucks. Recovery here is in full swing. Our governor has his stuff together to facilitate this response.

i saw drone footage from over near JAY fl , iirc its just north of the where the eye came to town..
stands of pine trees were laid over at about half height, video said tornado... nope those were straight line winds, all laid flat in perfect order like matchsticks
good to know you guys are ok, and you found the power guys
iirc the you tube guy was some weather source that sells video to news agency

Jay is about 10 miles north of me. It was reported locally that FPL brought 17,000 crews into the Panhandle.

I have spent about $5k to tree crews removing treacherous trees from the property thus far. If I can find a skid steer to rent I will be clearing deadfalls through Christmas. I am buying as many chainsaw blades as I can find. My pine plantation is pretty much wrecked, there are very few straight trees remaining. The cotton crop in the area is a loss for most as most if the boles were stripped from the plants by the wind. We were pretty fortunate with little damage to buildings, except my range house that was flipped over and dropped 100 ft away. But we shall persevere!
