I didn't realize this about our kinder, gentler Navy until today.

Hegseth has tried to root them out, even testifying before Congress that they have a mental illness.
And he is correct. It's an illness, but not a disease.

"An illness is an unhealthy condition of the body or mind. It encompasses any physical or mental impairment that causes a person to feel unwell, distressed, or unable to function normally."

Homosexuals have those symptoms. "Normal" is the preponderant manner in which the majority of humans function. They are far from normal. Not hating here, just being honest.

A little bird with a yellow bill,
Was sitting on my window sill,
I led him in with a piece of bread,
And then I …..
Mama and Papa was a-lyin′ in bed
(Mama and Papa was a-lyin' in bed)
Mama rolled over to Papa, she said
(Mama rolled over to Papa, she said)
"Gimme some (gimme some) PT! (PT!)
Good for you! (good for you!), good for me! (good for me!)

It was a PT song with sexual nuances, of course. :p

We would run 2 miles for PT in formation every single week day morning at the crack of dawn down a dusty tank trail and singing cadence songs. It kept your mind off how bad you felt after swilling beer and chasing skirts until the wee hours the previous night.🤣

Went to Sill in 1968. Sure must have been a lot of meritorious Captains then! Read about the 3,6 EOT awards in some official publication years later. Just look at the fruit salad on any flag rank officer. Farther away from combat the more of the “meritorious” ribbons you see.
I just never heard of 3, 6. If one was in combat as an 11 or 18 MOS, Col or below, in a Brigade/Regt or below, then the CIB was awarded. The flags I saw were multiple combat tours in VN, or whatever brushfire war going on at the time. I never saw an official publication on 3,6 in 1968 or any other time. Then again, I was in high school and didn't encounter officers until about 1971.
