A third party is not a bad idea as the Constitution has the guide lines and darn it's still here. Fact last year I had my crutches leaning against my car while I put groceries in the car,4 young males grabbed one of my crutches and took off with it. Damn things had cost me $250 the year B4 so I use it along with a cane. I am a Independent and both parties talk to me like a used car sales person. The old guys like me holding seats and vote there own raise need to be patted on the back as there shown the door. OOPs better get off my soapbox. So excuse me if I somehow stepped on some toes but I can't give my country away not after the military and law enforcement. I guess I'm norrow minded and to old but I'm still here. I’m so old I remember the parties calling each other “the loyal opposition”. They were different but basically held American values. Now? One party has consistently had the support of the Communist Party USA since the 80’s (look it up if you doubt) and it shows. But it’s worse than that-even the Commies could tell the difference between men & women-these morons can’t.

San Rafael - MS13 literally overtook my neighborhood. Again, gang infestation. Portland pre-covid was nice. It was clearly blue, but not "in your face blue." Now I'm stuck here. I once posted this little chart somewhere else on TAL. Folks, I truly believe we're no longer looking at a Conservative and Liberal government. I think a new, violent third party has entered into existence and I think both parties need to come together to eradicate it.

Our political parties have a history of splitting, changing names. The parties have always been divided between the Federalists and the Constitutionalists. The Democratic-Republican party eventually split into what is currently the Democrat and Republican parties. We have had a history of political unrest and some violence since the founding. sd

I’ve been on the west coast many times in the past decades for work. Beautiful country but I will NEVER go back to that unlocked lunatic asylum. They don’t call Commiefornia the land of fruits and nuts for nothing. I’m not sure if it’s the water or the air, but Something out there tends to rot peoples brains. I’ve got a cousin who was pretty intelligent, moved there almost 40 years ago and now she can’t tell girls from boys…crazy place.

I always laugh to myself when people call this hell-hole 'Commiefornia'. It's cute, but communists hate the association.

But it blurs the difference for other people that don't know there is a difference between communism and socialism, and they're the ones who need to be more aware of both

Socialiafornia just doesn't have the same ring to it. But it's the politicians that want to be communist, but they're trying not to admit it and alarm all the socialist voters.

Well said! I’ve a very good friend who defected from Hungary in the late 1960’s. He lived in the worker’s paradise there until the national ski team was in Vienna, he broke away from the group, ran in one door and out another of a large store and went to the US Embassy. He goes livid when these ignorant idiots talk about “socialism”. His son, a West Point grad, retired 2 years ago as a full colonel in the US Army. He currently has 2 grandchildren at the Point, one a senior and one a freshman. He HATES “communism” whatever it may be being called at the moment.
 
IMO…this all started with LBJs desire to make the US a welfare country. If JFK has not been assassinated, most of this would NEVER have happened.
