Idalia affecting anyone

Watching a reporter standing on Bayshore Blvd in Tampa and it is under water from the storm surge. I have driven that road many times and always admired the beautiful stately homes. Given the elevations the damage from flooding in Tampa Bay will be enormous but the Big Bend area is getting much worse. I feel so bad for people in the path of the storm.

Have friends in Key West who have lived there a long time. When they see one coming, they bug out 4-5 days ahead of scheduled landfall. They're retired but both had great jobs, invested wisely, and money's not an issue. Their home is about as hurricane proof as you can get and they haven't had much damage from these storms in their 17 years there. Glad that I don't have to worry about them but sad for those less fortunate. Good to hear javbike and family are home safe. Prayers for all in the storm's path.
