Illinois Democrats Push Bill to Serialize Ammunition and Create State Registry

While this bill is bad , it has been floated every year for several years now , they have introduced another that is much worse. We have to have a FOID card ( Firearm owner I D ) to buy firearms and ammo. Our FCCL is tied to the FOID so we only have one card.

They introduced a bill that if I have a gun stolen and I report it as I should , when it is recovered I get a $1,000.00 dollar fine and loose my FOID card and carry license . 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬

What are wrong with the democrats in Illinois? I know this will get lawsuits immediately if passed…..

Be a wide open for black market ammo and the sales of ammo at sporting goods store would quit having ammo. Let me think back ? Let's legalize pot then it would not be profitable for illegal grows. That has worked out really well as they keep finding these grows nation wide. I use this as a simple model and point to many states that now have a bigger problem of shall we with unsanctioned grows and larger trafficking and huge shipments posted by the Coast Guard. But that's just my view as I use to hunt grows and back country labs. We all understand that this plan will definitely stop shootings in Chi town IMO.

We get screwed more and more. Our FOID card doesn’t have an expiration date either and it is tied into our DL/plates. I shot in Iowa a few times and never really needed to show my FOID card (even to look at a firearm). If I could just win the lottery and open my own FFL.

What ignorance? They're gun laws seem to do exactly what they're intended to do, disarm they law abiding citizens

It’s common for the system in Illinois because of Chicago. It’s sad when the numbers show that Chicago and the burbs have more people than the rest of the state. There are other cities to be included like Rockford Illinois. Basically the rest of the state suffers because of it on different levels.

I grew up in the outskirts of the burbs for a while near Wisconsin and could tell the Chicago people were because of them going into Lake Geneva Wisconsin. Now I moved along I-80 about a good hour away and have a hard time going to the local out door range because of the Chicago people. So basically if it wasn’t for my 30 dollar an hour job that provides healthcare (yes I need it) then I love to find a few hundred acres down south to shoot.

Reminder folks that most politicians jobs before entering politics was in law. Lawyers and law firms.

They will propose legislation knowing it is unlawful, but will know that even if 10% of their bills pass, they are winning over time.

Throw it against the wall at all times and hope a fraction takes hold

This happens in every election.
Last election I asked Lauren Underwood another Pritzger financed politician if she is so hellbent on eliminating private ownership, being a person of color why don't you and your democratic entourage walk the southside of Chicago and demand those residents to turn in their illegal firearms.

I remember some years ago when the antis were pushing "Microstamping". There was actually a lot of study done on the concept. In the end it proved to be technologically, logistically and economically impractical. It just wouldn't work.
But like any bad idea, the antis have brought it back around again. Antis simply refuse to learn from their mistakes. They'd rather just keep recycling them. I see no reason why it would succeed this time either.
Its one thing to be stupid. Its something else all together to keep flaunting it over and over.
