Impressive Performance from "Cheap" Guns?

My first rifle was a Winchester Wildcat. I bought it last year when I was 50 year’s old (i got a late start) for $229. It looks like a plastic toy you’d buy at walmart. I taught myself to shoot with the iron sights and eventually put a cheap red dot on it for fun. It ate everything i fed it and is quite accurate. It will always be “my first rifle”. Best $229 i ever spent.
Now i’m hooked on .22 rifles.

I've got a Winchester Wildcat SR and it's been great for the $240.00 I paid for mine a year ago also. The SR model comes with a threaded barrel so it has been a great suppressor host.

I buy shooters. Some of them became valuable after I had them 20 years and got sold. An old model Ruger flat top, a Colt King Cobra, an M1 Garande.. that sort of stuff.

I remember those Star PD, nice guns, remember the Star Fire Star pistol?
 
Surprised no one has mentioned Taurus' newer G series 9mm striker guns. They're quite good shooters. Used to be "for the money/price", but they're turning out to be just good guns.

I even got my first Taurus lemon in a new G3 TORO model. Taurus and their new customer service model, so far, has been excellent. I've owned several of these G series pistols, all for well under $350 and never had a problem. Taurus of today immediately offered pre-paid FedEx to them in Bainbridge. I had all their questions answered in my first email, ammo type, round count, etc. They answered their email within 24 hours, both times. I didn't expect hardly anything out of email. Couple knowledgeable buddies of mine who work in gun shops have stated that from what they can tell, Taurus is really stepping their customer service game up.

ETA: Also got an RIA 1911 GI 9mm recently, and man their stuff is as solid as the RIA guys purport.

i did have the Taurus G3c and it was indeed a good shooting gun for i believe i paid just under $300.

i got rid of it, "just because" i didn't want it anymore, otherwise, i had no issues with it.
