Interesting Article (IMO) on How P320 Debate Could Affect All Carry Guns

I’m not a striker gun guy. To ME calling the dinging/flipperva “safety” is similar to calling a cocked and unlocked 1911 with a pinned grip safety’s trigger a “safety”. ‘It’ll only go off if the trigger is pulled”. Well duh, isn’t that what it’s supposed to do? Any crap inside the trigger guard (shirttail, etc) and Bang. An old fashioned 1911, shirt tail gets in trigger guard while holstering and…nothing happens. We all make our choices and live with the consequences. Choose wisely.
Not sure I follow what you're saying.

Cocked, unlocked, pinned grip 1911 = flipper “safety” striker pistol. In either case it won’t go off unless you pull the trigger. I just prefer the addition of a real safety to reduce chances of it going off when I don’t intentionally pull the trigger. Different strokes for different folks..

Sort of .

The category two safety , is then the Trigger Pull itself .

Historical Baseline - DA Revolver. No external safety , long 10- 14 lb trigger pull . Generally considered safe to carry and handle thusly .

The OG " standard trigger " Glocks were about half . Half -ish the travel , half the weight . Officially classified by ATF as a Double Action .

Was Half close enough? Debated at the time . Arguably " sort of close enough " . In early adopter PD 's , the AD ( at the time , still called AD ) rate went up by factor of 2 or 3 . ( Doubling of unusual occurrence is bad , but " only " double still rounded off to unusual occurrence. )

But the current trend of ever shorter & lighter " improved " factory , and aftermarket trigger systems no longer have a fig leaf of plausibly " trigger , resistant to ND " .

Ernst Langdon stated it best in a podcast about TDA vs Strikers.

With a lot of current fully cocked strikers the manufacturers have given the shooting consumer exactly what they wanted. East to shoot guns

To me they are to east to shoot for anythjng other than range use. I say this with 39 years of some type of uniform service and over 25 teaching both agency and civilians and seeing folks do dumb stuff with firearms

But all those .16 split times are important to some!

It’s fine and expected that agencies control what their employees carry. As for private citizens, you worry about you and I’ll worry about me.

By the way, that’s a general statement, not directed at anyone personally. FYI.
