Interesting email from Daniel Defense

I sent my DDH9 back to the mother ship three weeks ago after it started keyholing badly, among other issues. Today I got this email blast:

Daniel H9
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE OF THE DANIEL H9.
At Daniel Defense, our customers are central to everything we do — your trust and support make us who we are today — and our commitment to you is to deliver products that will be trusted for generations to come. That’s why we stand behind every one of our firearms with our 100% Lifetime Guarantee.
Trust is built through open, honest communication.
FOR OWNERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED THEIR DANIEL H9
Thanks to your open communication, we heard your overwhelmingly positive feedback, but we were also made aware of a keyholing issue that has been reported by less than 2% of DANIEL H9 owners.
After weeks of testing and pallets of ammo, our engineers were able to replicate the issue with very specific ammo under very specific conditions. We immediately paused all production and shipments until we could ensure that our flagship handgun performs under any condition and exceeds all expectations.
We have been tirelessly and extensively testing solutions — leading us to the root cause of the issue and the solution: re-engineering the design of the barrel.
Although the vast majority of DANIEL H9 owners have experienced no issues, because we are committed to standing behind our products 100% of the time, we will upgrade the hardware for everyone. The upgraded barrel will ensure the performance you expect of a Daniel Defense — even with the most budget-friendly ammo.
Within 30 days, we will share the steps to complete your upgrade. The hardware enhancement will be completely free of charge to you, and shipping is on us.
FOR OWNERS WHO HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEIR DANIEL H9
Thank you for your patience. If you have not yet received your DANIEL H9, rest assured that yours will ship with the upgraded components.
We appreciate your honest and open feedback. Know that we are listening and committed to making firearms the right way, right here in the United States of America, for generations to come.

So, what ammo have you used that was causing keyholing? Did you use different ammo during the time of shooting? Cheap ammo and high quality should not happen at all. Accurate ammo is another subject. Hope it all gets fixed!
I ran Browning 124gr exclusively. The gun was never super accurate and shot low from Day 1. I always took another gun along, typically a VP9, to compare results and the VP9 would run rings around it. Somewhere about 600 rds the accuracy seemed to get worse and I started seeing keyholing and by 800 rds it was rampant. I ran a box of Blazer 124 at the end and got the same results and decided to call Daniel as keyholing had become a known issue. DD immediately said send it in we will probably replace the gun. Along with keyholing it would regularly fail to go into battery, shoot chronically low and was combat accurate at best. I suspect if 98% of their H9s had no issues they wouldn’t have redesigned the barrel and offered to replace every single one.

At least you're off to a better start than a few on another forum that has eaa's. As much as I want a specific model I don't care to want 1 ever. Most complaints are on their bhp (not brake horsepower) model.
