Interesting J.P. Morgan article

i will dip a toe...just a toe bascilli
social security is NOT GOING BROKE
congress/president in their wisdom took social security funds that were separate and put them in general fund and now funds it via the general fund. the going broke thing is just a congressional spin they use the threat as a dividing rod and it works effectively becasue no body reads history
"
  • The Democratic Party moved Social Security to the General Fund: In 1960, President Kennedy and the Democratic Party passed legislation to move the Social Security trust fund to the federal budget’s general fund. This allowed Social Security to be used to offset the federal deficit.
  • The Move had far-reaching implications on Social Security’s future: The move resulted in the creation of the Unified Budget, which combined Social Security’s revenue and expenses with the rest of the federal budget. This made Social Security vulnerable to cuts and program changes at the discretion of Congress.
  • The Move sparked public outcry: The move was controversial, with many accusing the Democratic Party of raiding the Social Security Trust Fund. It also sparked concerns about the long-term viability of the program and the government’s ability to manage Social Security effectively."

The enemy within speaks. Globalist Billionaires believe they are America and what is good for them is good for America. Higher prices for goods and services means bigger profits for THEM. Lower wages means bigger profits for THEM. Cutting federal jobs means lower taxes for THEM. Cutting federal spending that benefits ordinary Americans so the federal government can appropriate more federal spending to further enrich THEM. Laying off American workers enriches THEM. Creating toxic work places and subjugating employees enriches THEM. Exporting American manufacturing jobs overseas enriches THEM. Bribing corrupt politicians with political campaign financing and cowardly dark money contributions enriches and empowers THEM.
Quite the opposite. For decades the finances of the federal gov't had as a key operating principle the "pass through." If X amount was allocated to Y federal agency, a certain amount was passed through to either another federal agency or a contractor or both. This is how THEM were enriched. In my brief time in the Imperial City, I was amazed at how little work was done in certain sectors but was dependent on others for the actual work. IOW the pass through is a network of favored agencies and private firms enriching themselves off of our tax dollars.

DOGE is essentially a team of high tech sleuths who can penetrate gov't systems and decrypt these networks and flow of money. So this brings up the question if billionaires and gov't officials are pro-cuts and lower taxes in order to enrich themselves, why would they be fighting DOGE and Trump tooth and nail? Your analysis is nonsensical.

I wasn't referring to line item costs but more of a model for the public that supplies the funds.
I appreciate your statement as being an equitable solution to provide equal airtime for the various parties. That, however, does not justify public funds being spent to provide irrational salaries. I will admit I might be a tad sensitive when it comes to government spending and likely missed your point entirely. I apologize if that is the case. I had no idea the government spent MY hard earned contribution to the annual extortion system on PBS. My feeling is if PBS is so important, and people out there believe in the mission, those people should get their checkbooks out on a monthly basis and pay for it, not me. Yeah, I get that my contribution might be only but a fraction of a fraction of a penny, but in my financial condition, I need every penny I can save!

The solution is to limit CEO total compensation to a predetermined percentage of corporate profits with the remaining profits being divided between shareholders and employees. CEOs are electing their peers and friends to their corporate boards and they are voting each other absurdly and excessively generous compensation packages which starves our nation's economy of capital. While this further benefits THEM because American workers are forced to take on more debt to live and that provides another steady and enduring revenue stream that enriches THEM with interest payments on loans. The more employees make the more they pay in income taxes and Social Security withholdings. They are not finding newer and ever more creative ways to be freeloaders in America like THEM.

I am against political campaign financing which means I am against both Democrats and Republicans, who sell their constituents' collective representative authority to the highest bidders. We need a better way to elect representatives than always being forced to choose the lesser evil. I want to elect the greater good for the sake of our children and grandchildren. We are entrusted with securing and defending their American Dreams. There is no i in we the people.

So now he wants the government to force companies to pay their employees as he sees fit.
Better than CEOs conspiring to suppress employees' wages by collusion and not paying taxes. As we the majority see fit. It is time to end minority rule. We, 362 million American workers are tired of being overruled by 290,000 Corporate CEOs and their political minions.

Power to the proletariat eh ?
I think that’s been tried…didn’t turn out well. I’ve a very good friend who defected from a socialist paradise (Hungary). His wife was a refugee from communist Poland. They are THE most patriotic Americans I know. Their son went to West Point and retired last year from the Army as a Bird Col. Their Grandson graduates from West Point next year. My friend is a virulently anti communist/socialist as anyone you’ll ever find. He grew up under it. Saw his grandfather taken away never to return.

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

First off, the medicare thing is a straight up lie. The only cuts to medicare are fraud and abuse and a rule mandating that able bodied people need to work in order to keep their benefits. And the rest of that is regurgitated leftist spin. Eliminating federal funding for PBS for example doesn't affect ordinary Americans. Most of us are sick of funding a wholly biased media machine that would fail if it had to exist without a government handout. CDC is a joke, IRS is a joke and every other government agency is utterly inefficient and is the vehicle for the massive money laundering operation that forces most of us into a repressive taxation system. I'm sure you think ( or pretend to think) the Trump tax cuts from the first term was a tax cut for the rich too. Which is provably false.

Opposing elimination of fraud and abuse and misconstruing stealing less of people's money as government spending is one of those 80/20 issues you are on the wrong side of.
I am currently reading 1116 pages of the bill. 😂. I’m up to page 300 so just got into the Medicaid section. Some of the fraud reduction is like “holy cr*p, why are we just now implementing this” like checking if receiving from multiple states or against death record.

There was a bunch of stuff on agriculture i just had no bases for understand so i skimmed through.

I’m not a fan of removing subsidized loans for education. With the cap on the subsidized loans it wouldn’t cover all of tuitions but at least some of the cost didn’t have interest kick in until repayment period starts.

That’s about all I’m through so far

Well, it definitely didn't work out too well for the pre revolution Russian peasants the term was coined for.

No need for an apology. Discussion is the first step to progress / strengthening / changing and ultimately success. Not a big fan of blanket funding / subsidies myself.

It takes longer than a person would think to get a dead person removed from the state/fed records. Took longer than I would have thought for her to be completely removed. The arrangements were already in place and the funeral home made all notifications from Electric to Social Security. Citibank, Amex, and SS were the first to notify me accounts were closed and payment stopped. It's not as simple as died 00/00/0000 and they are off 00/02/0000. I would imagine that much of what is said are the same redundant talking points and nothing will be accomplished again. Since you are doing yeoman's work in reading the bill what are the proposed cuts in medicaid and don't blame you for skimming the ag section.

Working Americans by virtue of their work ethic, respect for the rule of law, honoring their debts and obligations as citizens would be better stewards of the American Dream than our current regime of virtue-less globalist oligarchs, who swear allegiance only to themselves and their insatiable greed. Supporting the NRA was as bad investment when you look how much the CEO made and spent on himself, proving my point.
