? I want my 10 minutes back. Can someone write a "gunpowder, old and outdated" article? Maybe a "anyone else tired of oxygen" article. Maybe a 12000 word thesis on the Hi-Power and what an antique pile of junk but wouldn't have any other pistol article.

Why I started diversifying in platforms.
Got a roller delayed with HK33 clone and a couple of piston driven guns with LWRC in 5.55 and 6.8

I was first issued a M16 in 84. I think it served in Nam but I still managed to shoot expert in basic with it. However in 91 when things got a little sporty I searched around and found an M14. Sure it was heavier and ammo was as well but when things got real sporty as they say I was sure happy to have something besides the .556. Nowadays I have one of the SA M1A's as well as a couple of ARs. One an old Bushmaster with the heavy barrel and a new Saint. Both are fun to shoot, but when it really comes down to it if I gotta choose one.... It will always be the M1A

The AR is past it's prime but the 1911 is still a viable platform

Yep, it's history. the military will go to bolt action guns now. if you need more than one shot, well...you know the rest.

If folks haven't noticed, after 65+ years everyone is adopting an "AR-type" military rifle whether it has piston or still DI operating system.

So, the AR-type rifle is still going strong.
