Large pistol primers have been scarce lately. Small are easy to find and some are on sale right now.

We've been hearing about a gunpowder shortage for a while now. Actually, I think it's a cellulose shortage causing the prices to rise a bit recently. IIRC China is a major manufacturer of nitrocellulose. We know how much they love us.

Well, we're 8 months into 2024.

and the days of cheap mil-surplus went away pre-Covid.

Other than the blip when DJT was shot I don't see any shortages in my area, but that could change depending on what happens in early Nov.

I see lots of ammo on the shelves but the prices are against my grain. I buy what I need to stay qualified with some reserve but am not shooting 10% of what I was shooting in 2020. We are being fleeced from so many angles, it is depressing.

I’ve spent the last 5 years making sure I could weather any ammo shortage without reduction of current shooting habits.

It’s a little embarrassing.

Same here. When the great TP shortage hit , I was already ahead of the game. As for ammo , I don't shoot as much as I used to but I still try to keep at least a 1,000 rounds for each firearm on hand at all times.
