Yeah, those are the SA Gear Up promotions. The most recent one they ran (as best as I can Remember), was for their M1A which included extra mags and scope rail. When the next promotion will run is anyone’s guess (except for SA that is) ;)
 
All of my Springfield's had gear up programs two weeks after I bought mine.
I contacted Springfield and asked about my bad timing, they said they couldn't do anything for me.
They will give me a deal if I want to buy more.

That's a bummer Wirenut. Without knowing, I bought 4 SA pistols/rifle, all during their Gear Up Promotions. For once in my life I finally had some luck that wasn't Bad ;). I hope you find some if you ever decide to purchase a SA firearm in the future.
 
The gear up promotions definitely make it a sweeter deal when they are running them. Also, if you register with SA for the warranty, they usually give you special pricing for a one time purchase. This is usually the time I get a little magazine happy.
 
I bought my XD Mod 2 a week early. They also told me I was out of luck. It came with 3 magazines though. So I just had to buy 6 more. The little range bag seemed ok but the holster would be in the drawer with the rest of the holsters I never use though.
