Is TWO guns Too much?

Whatdaya think? In the past I occasionally carried a tiny Back Up, maybe a 5 shot 38 in a holster on my vest strap, or a small NAA 22 revolver in my shirt pocket. Then I thought maybe a 3rd mag was a better idea. Thankfully I never needed either; but they were comforting.

After I retired I went through a Doc Holliday phase. I carried at least two SAAs, sometimes a third. It was more of a "how cool is this" then need; but it fit with my gamblers vest and mustache. I havent given up on the SAAs but Im in a different "how cool is this" mode. Now Im thinking I want the John Thomas Rourke set of two Officer Model 45s in a double shoulder holster. Rourke carried two Detonics but they are long out of production and pricey. The Detonics didnt have a grip safety, so Im thinking either Colt or Kimber or maybe even Rock Islands. How long this phase will last is an unknown; but thats half the fun

I certainly dont need two guns (currently). An exciting night for me is a trip to the grocery store and maybe pick up a pizza on the way home. NEED is a four letter word, wanting is soooo much nicer.

For me...where I live, I am not so worried that I need to carry two. If I lived near the twin cities, I would definitely feel differently. Besides, I am a little human. One gun is fun enough to hide discreetly. That being said, I have been eyeing an ankle holster that another forum member posted about a while ago. I am always switching things up, so we'll see.

Well I have carried 2 before. Especially where I felt it was warranted. I would it depends on you and the area you live. Plus how easy or comfortable is it for you to carry 2. Comfort and accessibility is important. I live in a open carry state with no permit needed to carry concealed. So I have various options that you may not

me too^^

I now carry a J-frame in a pocket holster in my cargo shorts. I live in South Texas and wear shorts year-round. In fact, I'm coming up on almost a year now of being pants free! Anyway, I've sometimes wondered about putting a second J-frame in my other pocket, instead of the 1 or 2 speed strips for reloads I put in there now.

I carried a little .25 Beretta in a shirt pocket as backup to my Model 27 S&W for a couple years. Never needed it but it was a comfort. Nowadays I would probably carry a Sig P365 or SA Hellcat for backup in a vest holster.
Same... I have those two and even though I am a Sig guy, I carry the little Hellcat as the backup just because it is the lightest of the tiny guys I have.

I knew a guy who flipped houses in Baltimore City. He said he was safe once he got inside the house BUT from his truck to the house and from the house to his truck he felt vulnerable. He carried a hammerless J frame in BOTH pockets of his jacket. That way whichever hand was free he could shoot. Being hammerless and revolvers he could get off multiple shots.
